 What is Postscribed IDTM?
   
Postscribed IDTM is a new technology from Sony that enables the additional inscription of a unique ID onto a CD/DVD's signal surface after the stamping process at the disc plant. By using a high-power laser diode, a new reflective layer material, and extremely accurate location control technology, Sony can enable CD/DVD Disc publishers to identify each disc of an individual title.

  "Postscribed IDTM" technology enables disc customers to inscribe personal data such as serial number and data freely defined by them.
Compatibility with the CD/DVD-ROM format
  The "Postscribed IDTM" is compatible with the CD-ROM format (Mode2 Form2) based on the Yellow Book standard and DVD-ROM format(DVD Specification for Read Only Disc)
Ability to read data on a standard CD/DVD-ROM drive
  "Postscribed IDTM" technology enables disc customers to inscribe personal data such as serial number and data freely defined by them.

 Postscribed IDTM Data Format
 
  Available in your choice of three different data formats:
 
  Basic ( 6bytes )
   Automatically generated serial numbers for each title.
 
  Serial number : Approx. 4.3 billion numbers
 
  Standard ( 16bytes )
   Unique Title Number, Generation Flag, Test Flag and Serial Number.
 
  Title Number : Unique number for title identification,
Approx. 4.3 billion numbers
  Generation Flag : Flag for generated serial numbers
  Test Flag : Flag for test disc
  Serial Number : Unique number for title number,
Approx. 4.3 billion numbers
 
  Custom ( CD:16bytes - 192bytes DVD:16bytes-512bytes)
   All available data bytes specified freely by the customer. Customer can select every 16 Bytes data length up to 192 Bytes. (up to 512 Bytes for DVD)
  Custom Data:Specified by the customer, Customer needs to provide inscribing data.
